isyaNIA's books club

hi there....

new book to be promoted here. yesterday, i bought one book at popular. the title is.....

THREE CUPS OF TEA.

well..today i already read half of the book and i like it. so much.

the book is about a true story of a guy, american, christian and named as greg mortenson. he was a mountaineer. loves to climb every high summit in the world. and in 1993, he tried to win the K2 summit (2nd highest peak in the world) but unfortunately he failed and drifted into an improvised pakistan village in the karakoram mountains. there, he was treated like a family. moved by the inhibitants' kindness, he decided to return and build a school. since that, over a decade, he built not just one, but 55 schools in that remote area. his story is at once a riveting adventure and a testament to the power of humanitarian spirit. plus, in this book, u can see how he got into the muslim world and became a part of it. very interesting storyline. and you can get it also in children's edition.

"here we drink three cups of tea to do business: the first you are a stranger, the second you become a friend, and the third you join our family, and for our family we are prepared to do anything-even die."

nowadays, i read a lot of books that circle around the true story, humanitarian and famous figures. i just like it because i can see how one's life change because of one decision. and at the same time, i can see the variation of human's mind react with one problem.

but, my dear friend had a hypothesis about my interest. she think that me, right now, is going through an aging process.

auww, it's hurt dude. age and getting old are sensitive things to girl!

1st week of OnG

the summary....it was SUCK!

not because of the docs or nurses or patients, but because i got fever. the worse fever ever i think. i vomited a lot of times, headache, chills n rigor, no appetite at all and i couldn't sleep. all i can do was crying alone in my room until my mother came pick me up and brought me home. Thanks mom! i know u were tired because of the hectic week in Perak.

from monday till now, i am still not well. i hate it. but i'm recovering actually.

but, behind this sickness....GOD showed me something. something that i always put aside in my life. and now, GOD did open my eyes. bigger i guess. and i am really2 appreciated it.

and thank you so much to all friends that send the SMS and called me during my sickness. i was touched when someone that i am not very closed to, far away called me, asking about my health after knowing it from my other friends, telling jokes to me so i can laugh. thank u so much. at least all of your calls and sms did sooth me a bit friends.....

THANK YOU!

dear guys...dont do this to your wife.

today, i went to a labour room with my buddy. there, i watched and assisted 2 young mothers going through the most painful experience ever.

the first delivery is an induced one. the intra uterine death case. we still dont know why the baby die, but when he was been delivered, i can see a cord was around his neck. maybe thats the cause.
i dont want to highlight how the process and whatsoever that happen inside that room but there's one story that i think quite interesting to be shared and think.

after the baby was out from the womb, dama and me tried to clean up the mess. we collected all the dirty things and prepared the mother to be sent to other room. and while doing that....

me: kak, ade kain sarung lebih x??? yang akak pakai ni da kotor.
patient: ade tu atas kerusi.
me: yang tu da guna untuk balut baby kan? ada yang lain x??
patient: xde la.akak x bawak masa masuk labour room.
me: xpe2, saya pegi cari relatives akak. rest k. dama, clean up the mess, i try to find a clean sarung k.
dama:k.

i went out and...

me: siapa ahli keluarga puan ............
man: saya suami dia. kenapa?
me: kami nk kain batik lebih. ada x? yang dah ade kotor.
man: ala jauh la.
me: jauh sgt ke?? bleh x pegi amik???j(*kat umah ke)
man: ala sume barang2 dia kat wad 1U la. jauh. saya x larat nak pegi amik. da penat arini banyak sgt keja.
me: x boleh ke tolong amik, xkan nk biar dia pakai yg kotor.(*that time, i da start marah)
man's mother: pegi la amik.
man: malas la, jauh.
me: ok, fine. (u mmg buat i marah)

for your information, wad 1U is the same level with labour room and only around 100m only! i can not accept what that man said.

hello, you wife already carried ur son for almost 9 months and did she complaint about that?? and now that baby was die and all she got was pain. a lot of pain.

if u cant even walk 100m to get a clean sarung for ur wife, i just wonder, what are other things that you can do for her except making love! none i think.

if i cant hold my anger there, of course i'll have a fight with him. but i dont want to be bar from OnG posting just because one stupid lazy husband.

DONE!

last posting

*tup tap tup tap tup tap

tomorrow is going to be my first day in my last posting for 4th year. OMG time fly so fast. i only got another one year to prepare myself to face the "sepak terajang" in medical world. and honestly, i dont think im ready for that.

Obstetric and Gynaecology posting......
emmm...my last posting. the posting that most people claimed as the most stressful posting ever. ward round as early as 730am, killer docs, log book requirement, on call from 6pm to 6am, with a lot of blood, babies and pregnant mama plus STD and whatsoever...no wonder it is known as most stressful posting.

i know it is going to be fun too. with a new experience to welcome a new life to our hectic cruel world, be the one that play a role to help the baby either he/she is going to be a politician or a doctor in the future. and to the one with a dirty mind, it is going to be a lot of vahjayjay. haha

i just hope i have a strength to get through this posting just like i did with the previous postings. i pray to god, to help me, to stay positive everytime i face shah reza. i know he is going to torture me during the ward round just like he did to my other friends. but hey, he is human too. so, who cares.

so isya,
FIGHTING! i know u can do it. be selumber ok!

relevankah PPSMI?

last weekend, i surfed the internet at home. and i read Dr M's blog about PPSMI. well, everyone knows about that right now, there is a group of malaysian that against it. and the gov still in process of discussion about that.
when i read the comments. there's a go and against.
Rata-rata student answer in English...It's proven what.....
Especially bila dah ke peringkat universiti, most of the reference books are in English. What if students vocabulary, grammer etc weak at this level....? How to compete with other races and later at the working environment or till the world level? Tak kan time tu baru nak amik intensive course for BI? For example, most subjects thought by UiTM are in English. Its really proven. Saya bersyukur melanjutkan pelajaran di UiTM dulu...terima kasih UiTM...
Why after 6 years baru nak buat demonstrasi? Ish2....yang nak belajar anak2 and cucu kita. So let them be...Tak kan Melayu hilang di dunia. Yang menyebabkan Melayu hilang kerana perbuatan orang Melayu sendiri. Berebut dan gila kuasa...gila pangkat...bila dah menang janji tinggal janji....tuduh menuduh antara BN and pembangkang. If tgk org2 zaman dulu org Melayu bersatu skrg banyak pemimpin yang selfish and nak cepat kaya melalui kuasa yang dia ada...kira penyalahgunaan kuasa la ni...ada kuasa senang nak jadi senang...Bukan sibuk fikir hala tuju bangsa, macam mana nak tangani isu kemelesetan ekonomi, cegah jenayah, bunuh sini bunuh sana....tapi sibuk kejar kuasa gila harta!
Betul kata Tun....Melayu mudah lupa....
from mamalin
yang bangkang kate.....
SAYA TAK SETUJU DENGAN PANDANGAN TUN...MUNGKIN KERANA SAYA DILIHAT LEBIH KEPADA PEMBANGKANG...TETAPI JIKA ANWAR KATA MACAM ITUPUN SAYA PASTI TIDAK SETUJU...JIKA KITA LIHAT SEBELUM MERDEKA RAMAI RAKYAT KITA FASIH BERBAHASA INGGERIS DAN BOLEH DIKATAKAN LEBIH INGGERIS DARI MELAYU TERMASUK TUN SENDIRI...NAMUN APA HASILNYA ADAKAH TUN TELAH BERJAYA MENCIPTA ROKET UNTUK KE ANGKASA? ADAKAH RAMAI RAKYAT MALAYSIA YANG TELAH MAHIR BERBAHASA INGGERIS INI TELAH MAMPU MENJADI AHLI SAINS TERKEMUKA DI DUNIA INI? LAHIRKAH PENCIPTAAN TERBARU SEPERTI KERETA BOLEH TERBANG ATAU BOLEH BERUBAH BENTUK MENJADI BOT ATAU BENDA LAIN ATAU PENCIPTAAN YANG MEMBERI KEBANGGAAN KEPADA RAKYAT MALAYSIA KINI? YANG ADA CUMA PAKAR GIGI MACAM TUN DAN DOKTOR FARMASI...INIKAH HASIL PEMBELAJARAN INGGERIS? INIKAH YANG TUN CARI?
from nasha bin edwin
then, i asked my father.....
me: ayah, sutuju x dgn PPSMI?
ayah: setuju.
me: sebab apa?
ayah: sbb ayah cikgu. mmg benda nih akan menyusahkan cikgu2 pada awal ye. tp kalu bersusah untuk anak murid, x salah. cume ayah rasa better dia start masa tahap dua. budak2 pun x terkejut skit. lg pun, kite tgk skrg, anak murid x komplem banyak pun, org2 tua yg sibuk bising2.btol x? lagipun, kite hanya belajar english dalam sains dan matematik je. sejarah, geografi, KH, pendidikan islam, sume still dalam bahasa melayu. so, x timbul isu tak melayu. kita jgn banding dgn jepun. even komputer jepun pun guna bahasa jepun tapi kite still lg gune komputer dalam BI. sebenar ye, english tu buat kite kompetatif. dalam interview, kalu kita tgk, kelebihan bahasa asing tu yg dia tgk. so, dia mesti lebihkan yg power dlm english.
me: a'ah btol gak
and my opinion....
i agree with my father. why? because i've been through that time. that dark period where i'm a blind in english. this is the decision made by experience.
yes, i got 5A's in UPSR
yes, i got 7A 1B in PMR. B for ENGLISH. repeat. B for ENGLISH!
i was really2 upset with my PMR's result. because i was a top ten student in my class. even my not top ten classmates got 8A's.
and then, i learned to accept it. why?
because i was a bad student in english class. i always always always slept during my english class. and my teacher (teacher aminah) always scolded me because of my result. and it made me hate her so much and hate english too. i cant write english without making mistakes and i didnt have a gut to speak in english with my friends. so, how am i going to improve right. that the story before PMR.
after PMR, i started to think. i need to do something for my english. and luckily that time, i got Sir Martin Bates for two years. plus, i did extra things. i listened to Hitz.fm everyday(hehe bwk radio time prep ptg n malam). i tried to catch what was the DJ's talking about and repeated what he/she said.almost everyday, i did this thing. luckily that pinky prefect didnt know about this. and i also listened to english songs. i memorized the lyric and wrote it on the paper. then, i checked my spelling.
day by day, i can see my improvement in english. i had a confident to talk in english even i used broken english. but who's care right. im learning.
when i took my SPM's result from cikgu yati, the first subject that i checked was english. and i got A. thank god.
during that time, honestly, i learned and studied english because i want to take revenge and get A in SPM. and i got it.
but, after SPM. i can see the benefit that i get from taking english seriously. because, i performed well during my matric's life. very well that cause me end up in medical school.
and in uni's life, i used it almost everyday. during ward round, on call, study time and when i have to read that awful doc's writing in the folder. all in English.
and now, i can write in english and i can speak in english. although i know there was a mistake here and there. but, that's the way i learn english. and yet, i'm still a MALAY.
and i like to put a quote from Dr M...
I am a Malay not because of the language I use when thinking or dreaming. I am Malay because ethnically, lingually, culturally and religiously I am a Malay and I regard Malaysia as my homeland.
