a joy of a patient

one of my patient, bear a painful anal swelling for a week

today, he came and got a lucky room 8.

it was irreducible external heamorrhoid which is so shiny swollen like cauliflower and bluish in colour. i put some lignocaine gel on it, made it work for 5 minutes and tried to reduce it. alhamdulillah...it went inside. asked him to rest for a while on that bed.

after that, he came in front of me, putting his hand together, and he was like want to sujud in front of me. of course i discharge him some medication and advise plus a referral as outpatient to tertiary centre.

i am happy today, because i think i just make someone's life better today.

thank god for the bless, thank god for the gift of knowledge to me.

his time

a year ago, i was been posted to surgical dept at my training hospital as junior medical officer soon after i completed my housemanship. i was been there for nearly 6 months, before been transfered to my current place - klinik kesihatan. well dats 6 months, was quite a long period to me. i kept on thinking, calculating how different my style and this posting. personally i hate it. i hate the fact that i need to be in operation theatre, need to sniffed the smell of infected wound, did the per rectal examination and etc. it just not my type....at all.

so after went here and there, requesting for transfer, i got the chance to go to public health area. playing with the community. kinda boring place but better than before.

and after a year, while i enjoying my relaxation time at my current place, my dearie husband was posted to my 'previous' dept. well, as a requirement since he wants to proceed to master programme in a future. today is his day 2. and i can see and feel how different it is. no message as frequent as before, and no more call at noon. yes, i miss those things. but this is what we call as 'pengorbanan'.

i know he is enjoying it, because he got it in him. a heart of surgeon. i can see the satisfaction on his face after he done a surgery. he is my charming derek shepherd! forever.

it just day 2 and a lot of another is coming.

god...give me strength!
