dentist told me... doing it (removal of my impacted wisdom teeth) under GA wont hurt much. so, i confidently said YES to it.
admitted a day before, waiting nervously and boom...the surgery done on 18th of March. At recovery area....i was struggling, handling the pain. bolus dose of fentanyl wont help me to reduce the pain at all. In the end, i ended up with PCA (patient control aneast) and kept pushing the button ever 3-5 mins. PCA did help me a lot. pain score only 2-3/10. can smile, can walk around the ward. one thing that i couldn't do... eat.
my face started to swell... change from round to square. i became spongebob squarepant!
then a real challenge started...
discharged a day after surgery.... no more PCA, just arcoxia and swollen face. and the pain was so excruciating. i was crying in pain....and starving. at one point, i was looking for the scissor to cut my long hair. that showed how much the pain i was bearing. almost went insane haha. kept blaming myself for agreeing to do this surgery. taking arcoxia with empty stomach really thought me a lesson. i ended up with gastric attack 3 nights in a row. woken up in the middle of the night...some times with vomiting.
pain persistant almost 2 weeks. life only depends on painkiller and soft diet.
till now...1 month after surgery, i'm still having the pain. although it is better than before, pain does disturb my daily life. chewing still be a problem to me.
dear dentist....are you sure that surgery wont hurt much???
p/s: 7 teeth extracted (4 wisdom teeth, 2 premolar, 1 impacted palatally premolar) in order for me to wear braces. beauty is pain.
