it's 5 years already!

i can still remember when the 1st time i played in usmkk netball team almost 5 years ago. being the youngest among the top 7 players, one of the scariest thing to me. my partner during that time was kak faiz, a final year medical student. i was a GS and she played GA. u can see the gap, and how the junior-senior thing affect the way you play. i was afraid that i made mistakes that time, worried if my shooting not go into the ring, or passing the ball wrongly. but thank god...i managed to go through it.

then, time goes by.....

now im the one, the final year student that still playing for usmkk netball team. and my partner...a first year sport science student. because i've gone through that phase before, im trying to reduce the gap between us. i dont really care about junior-senior things. as long as they respect me, the i'll respect them. and chemistry went well between us.

last week, SUKAD for netball was held here in USMKK. and praise to god, our team won gold, and junior got silver. i played in that team for five years, and i am proudly said that i was successfully completed my gold medals collection. from year 1 to year 5. and to juniors...seriously, i am so proud of you. before this, i am quite worried to leave the team, without a good base since a lot of seniors are leaving the team next year. but, from your performance in sukad last week, i am no doubt about leaving you. cause i can see how good you are, playing for victory.

because of my dissappointment in masum last year, i fight so hard to bring the masum centralization for netball to usmkk. finally, we got that centralization. and by our big winning in sukad last week, now we can justify to them why we want the centralization to be here. so juniors, use that opportunity to improve ur skill.

these are some of the snap during sukad last week. so, take a look k.

team nurani - gold. beat murni 31-14

team murni - silver

gold and silver medalists

murni-nurani. they can split our name, but not our spirit.

so, sukad time was over. so, time to rub the burned skin and be prepared for PRO 3 exam. it just 28 days left.

p/s: today, i played in Kejohanan Piala Pengarah Kampus, and won the gold. congratulation gurls. and to dama, u rock today girl. trust me, u still got the touch although u left netball for so many years. thanks for joining us.

tasya ooo tasya

tut tut....tut tut....tut tut...

mama: assalamualaikum...
me: waalaikumussalam. watpe mak?
mama: em ade kat hospital neh, jaga tasya.
me: patut la bising...dia watpe?
mama: ade tu, duk main ng bear dia. kak cakap ape kat tasya aritu?
me: huh? ade ke?
mama: ala pasal dr firdaus.
me: damn!

hehe.....actually i did talk about dr firdaus with tasya on the day of my visit. but i was just joking around with tasya about him. and that little girl got a very strong memory to memorize about what i said to her, and blurted it out again in front of dr firdaus and nurses in that ward during round. haha so sweet la si tasya neh.

the story goes like this....

me: tasya...tasya....kak nurul nak taye leh?
tasya: pe dia?
me: dr yg rawat tasya nama dr firdaus kan? hensem x?
tasya: emmm (sambil angguk kepala)
me: dia da kawen blum?
tasya: tak tau.
me: kalu kak nurul nak ngorat dia bleh? kak nurul pun doctor jugak. hehe cume tak rasmi je lagi.
tasya: hehehe.....
me: rilex tasya, kak nurul gurau je. jgn bgtau dia plak. kak sya xmo doctor.
diqma: xpe2, kalu kak nurul xmo, bagi kat kak ma.
me: lor...ke situ plak dia.

then we laughed.......

days after that....dr firdaus came to her ward.

dr: tasya, camne arini? ok?
tasya: emmmm ok. dr da kawen blum?
dr: knape? tasya nk kawen ng dr ke?
tasya: emmm x. kak nurul nak ngorat dr.
dr: sape kak nurul tu?
tasya: dia pun dr jugak.
dr: dr kat mana?
tasya: xtau, tapi dia mmg dr.
dr: ishk ade2 aje tasya nih.

then one nurse (who saw me coming to the ward that day) interrupted.

nurse: ok la dr. yg tu single, dr pun single.
dr: hehehe (tersipu malu)

my mum told me about that during our phone conversation that night. and we couldn't stop laughing....

tasya....tasya....as i told you, she is a sweet girl.

overseas vs malaysia

someone said,

"personally, i would advice all of u to go back and work for the country..."

this is one of the status in FB that attracted me to give my comment, wrote by one of malaysian medical student in Ireland. actually, she is my old friend from secondary school. it was a statement came from one of the medical consultant from HUKM during their visit to Ireland and my friend was there.

personally...i have my own view.

for me, they should come back to malaysia. just imagine, our parents worked days and nights to support their study in oversea. by time, after they got their scroll, they should come back and work for malaysians. that is how they should do to repay all the money that malaysians showered to them during their 5-6 years in oversea. that's a lot dude. they even can travel to many places during the summer holiday. but, some of them....seem to be not so clear about this. just because overseas offer a lot of money, they go blind, and work for them. don't blame me about being straight about this. i spend 5 years in medical school in malaysia, and i know how heavy each doctor's workload because of not enough doctors in hospital. and we, as malaysian doctors....should do something about that. be responsible and do our best to work for our own race and nation.

yes, i am patriotic kind of person. so what?

one other thing that i wanna stress here is about contract. a lot of my friend being fussy about that. some of them think that 10 years contract is a long period of time being attached with the government. if you think that u cant do it or u wanna go to private practice earlier, and get a lot of money, why u sign that damn contract at the first place?

this is some of the comments came from one the doctor (a consultant respiratory physician in Queen Elizabeth hospital) about that statement. someone who is very senior in his field. and i am totally agree about that.

"Ada setengah orang dah habis belajar sampai jadi pakar tapi tak mau balek kununnya gaji banyak kat overseas dan glamour. Sorrylah. We welcome you back if you want to help the rakyat, but if you prefer to stay on, good luck dan bantulah orang lain if that's your wish."

"When I first arrived in Dublin in 1983 as a young student, I was told by a JPA officer "You datang ke Dublin untuk cari ilmu nak tolong rakyat bila dah berjaya, jadi baleklah bila dah berjaya. Rakyat tak halalkan wang yang dibelanjakan untuk kursus you kalau you tak mahu balek". Standards of medical care in Malaysia are excellent we can even do heart-lung transplant tak payah nak hantar ke overseas. Some overseas doctors even come to Malaysia for training. Tepuk dada tanya selera."

":) sapa2 yg nak syok on cloud 9 dengan mat salleh, biarkan saja."

well, the last sentence is a bit pedas la. but that's the truth. if i am a bussineswoman...i wont invest in the business with no profit. if i am the one that pay the tax every year, and part of the tax goes to the medical student that dont even have a thought to come back and work for malaysians....what a waste. and i have right to refuse since i gain nothing from that. so think...

p/s: i'm not adressing 'them' as all malaysian medical students outside of malaysia. just a little of them. very little. my point is so simple. siapa makan lada, dia terasa pedas ye. siapa makan gula, dia terasa manisnya.

CNY holiday part 3

"aduh, aduh cakit ye meci. doh la tu. adik cejuk da nih. adik cejuk. aduh cakit meci. cakit..."

this is a story that my mother told me about this little girl named tasya. adik tasya. a story showing how strong she is, going through all the painful treatment in the hospital since the first day of her admission after the tragic accident that killed her parents, her grandmother and her youngest brother.

from that accident, she sustained bilateral hips fracture, and burn at her right upper limb, part of her abdomen and thorax. this is one of the strongest kid i've ever met in my life. and i adore her, adore her cuteness, her sweetness and her courage.

initially, no one have a thought that she will survive, even can walk again. but today, she showed us that we were wrong. she even can walk although not as fast as others. and her recovery are so fast. and that's also one of the reason i adore her so much. trust me, u definitely will fall for her once she opens her small beautiful mouth, talking to you. so sweet.

and this part 3 are all about her.

actually, after celebrating my brother's birthday....we went to the HKT to visit her, together with the cake. once in her room, we lighted the candle and asked her to blow it. assume that, that day was also her birthday, or as a sign of reborn after going through a big trauma in her life. and i couldn't stop smiling, seeing how happy she was, blowing the candle and eating two big slices of the cake. and that day, her brother and her sis ( which also the victims in that road accident) were also in that room. came to visit her after a follow up in the orthopaedic clinic.

and my brother's birthday became much much more meaningful right. a beautiful way to celebrate the birthday. beautiful.

aidil, tasya and aisyah

see how happy she was that day

happy 'birthday' adik tasya!!!

lets pray for her fast recovery. we are planning to bring her to our house after discharge. so, at least, my mother got someone that can entertain her. and we already got the approval from her uncle. so, be healthy tasya....and be my little 'adik'. love you!

notakaki: this is the last part of CNY holiday.

unplanned date

salam everyone!!!

huh...what a relieved. feels so alive today, after spending a nice warm weekend at my home. i cant deny it, my home is one of the place that suck all the stress and problems in my head and my mum's cook is the best medicine that cure everything.

well, i'm almost at the end. tomorrow is the first day for my last posting. OBGYN posting. one of my favourite. and cant wait to rock on in the labour room, celebrating the arrival of the new babies. hehe

today...i went to unplanned date. seriously....unplanned.

actually it was not a real date. it was more like a reunion between two close friends. but we can consider it as a date since it involved 2 persons with different sex. haha. i knew that he went to KT today. he even invited me to join him in KT. but i refused since today is saturday...all the road must be packed with cars. and i hate being stuck in traffic jam. so i stayed at home, chilled out and did some baking.

i left my house around 6pm. and then he called me. we set the place and met. at first, i noticed that he looked different. but i'm still in denial. maybe it just me. my thought, my little problem. but then...he did look different. really really different. like 40% of him was gone.

he looked different.
he talked less.
and even the tone was different.

i knew that this might be because of his 'complication'. and i didn't know how much that 'complication' affected him until i met him today. thank god for that date. at least i knew why he was so silent nowadays.

to my dear friend,

everyone in this world got problems. even me and you. and one of that problem is failure. i faced that once, and i worked so hard to get over it. and thank god i managed to solve it. and i even gained something from that. something that i am so proud to have it today. the different between us is...i faced failure earlier than you. if i can get through it, why dont you right? just remember....studying is a contest. the contest is the lion fight. so chin up, put your shoulder back, walk proud, strut a little and don't lick your wound. the scar you bear are the sign of competitor. you are in lion fight. just because you didn't win, doesn't mean that you don't know how to roar. so please, don't hide. let them know that you can roar and be ready to kick their ass.

our life need colours. so don't be scare to paint your life beautifully my friend. and i like to be one of the colour in that painting. if you don't mind. haha by the way...im violet.

p/s: really hope that the cake will cheer u up.

medical posting

hye everyone! feel like i wanna write something today. feel like wanna share something about what i've been through since the last post. something that i usually gone through in every posting. hehe so expect the boring part ok. hehe

im in my final week of medical posting. actually, i just finished my end posting exam with my supervisor. a very very nice supervisor. god bless him. actually, i didnt well prepared about my long case. i just clerked my patient this morning after my MCQ exam. actually, he was my fourth patient that i approached. the first one - case so simple. the second - i asked about something, she answered the other way round and the third ran to radiological department after half of the clerking. so, thank u for my fourth. very cooperative and nice. well, with a very limited time to study the case, i expect the worse. however, the outcome was so good. thank u again to my supervisor. BIG THANK YOU!

and you know what...i think i like medical. before this, i think this is one of the most boring posting in my life. but this year, i think i enjoyed medical. although this posting not as trilling as emergency, but i can see myself being a medical specialist. they got the aura u know. the aura of the true physician.

so, which specialities will i be in da future?
  1. medical?
  2. OBGYN?
  3. or accident and emergency??

haha well i didnt enter my HO life yet. no need to rush. lets think about it after i got my full license to kill. or maybe i'll end up being someone that working base on office hours. or maybe i'll end up being a full time housewife, cooking and changing my child diapers everyday. who knows right. haha just kidding la. actually i see myself, standing on the stage, wearing a robe with red lace, introducing myself as DEAN of school of medical sciences. haha this one baru betul! actually i wore that robe once. secretly sneaking to the changing room, wore the robe and snap a pict. sorry mr dean.

ok better stop here before i talked rubbish again. c ya!

p/s: someone google my blog by typing "nurul izzatul HUSM". wau...skema yer. either u r a doctor that know my real name only or u r a friend that never been closed to me even to know my nick name. well next time, to make it easier....type "isya nia" like almost others did. hehe
